I have been in private practice since 2022 following the completion of his graduate degree in Narrative Therapy and Community Work for the University of Melbourne. I have worked in the field of Mental health and Substance use for over 25 years. I also holds a Bachelor of Social Worker from Dalhousie University and am Registered Social Worker in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers.
As Narrative Therapist I view my work with people as a conversation. My interest is in the multiple stories that make up the people sitting across from me, and how the problem that comes with them is only one of many stories. I approach problems as external from the person and spendtime exploring the relationship people have with the problem.
I am an autistic & learning disabled person, and a parent of two autistic children.I bring my own personal experience with neurodiversity to my work and believe that lived experience is vital to conversing with people who seek help.
I approach my works from a person first lens and I am interested in working on whatever goal or problem is presented by the person. I see my work as a conversation or consultation and believe the person seeking his help is the expert and has agency in their lives.
